BP’s promised help for Gulf Coast residents has been delayed for many – just like their delay tactics for the environment. Approximately 39,000 claims are yet to be dealt with. Many of the people who filed these claims can not wait for BP to come through with their promises. Most are not rich like the oil executives and have bills to pay. The Mississippi Attorney General
said BP wasn’t denying the claims just holding them open forever. BP playing games again with people’s lives. And Dudley, the new BP CEO, is showing little if any improvement over Tony Hayward.

They acted quickly spending millions of dollars on public relations including television commercials to try and get the public back on their side. However, when it comes to acting quickly for the Gulf Coast residents and the environment BP is wanting, badly.

You can fool some of the people some of the time – but not all the people all of the time.

Besides 11 people losing their lives and an evironmental catastrophy of epic proportions, the lack of tourism will further impact the gulf states.

I went to Michigan to see my mom for mothers day and it was very cold for this time of year. It was in the forties and fifties. I missed some beautiful eighty degree weather by a week or two. One thing I love about Michigan is the Great Lakes. My brother has property just a few hundred yards from Lake Superior. It would sicken me to think of any of the Great Lakes having an oil spill or leakage like the one in the Gulf of Mexico now.

Some things just stay with you. I’ll always be a Wolverine and part of my state heritage is the beautiful Great Lakes. It must be the same for those along the Gulf States. Imagine 200,000 or more gallons of oil leaking per day – and 3 companies blaming each other instead of taking responsibility.

Will we trust them again? I think NOT!
