Japan has reported a failed attempt at stopping the nuclear chemical leak from the Fukushima energy plant. With an erie resemblance to BP’s fiasco, Japan tried to fill and block the crack with concrete.

When this didn’t work guess what the next step was? Shredded newspapers, sawdust and some kind of polymer. You’re right – it didn’t work either.

So, high levels of radioactive water continue to pour into the ocean. Just like BP took months to control the oil leakage, Japan is now admitting that it could take months to control the nuclear leakage.

And – just like BP pretended to have the environmental catastrophy under control, Japan officials have pretended to have the nuclear disaster somewhat under control. Thankfully, some of the radioactive water dissipates in the ocean but how much? Also, the atmosphere is containing nuclear dust and moisture which in turn rains down on crops.

There is one big difference though. President Obama and BP turned down willing and capable help whereas Japan is smart enough to at least except the help.

President Obama is strangely silent about an authorized oil spill commission on BP’s neglectful safety practices. The Presidential Commission on the oil spill cleared BP from cheating on rig safety standards. Many prominent critics and those personally affected by the oil spill strongly disagree with the commissions findings.

President Obama’s Transparent Administration Not So Transparent

Some disgusted citizens and an attorney who is suing BP said the commission’s findings were “absolutely absurd.” Also, a Yale University professor said the investigation was overlooking BP’s record of disasters after cost cutting measures by BP. The professor is Charles Perrow, a respected technological disaster academics.

So much for transparency.

Halliburton was blamed also, deservedly so, by BP and commission investigators. Halliburton admitted blame on its cement procedures a few weeks ago. This still doesn’t excuse BP who was ultimately responsible for every decision made on the Horizon Deep Water rig. It is just so sad that President Obama touted his administration as being the most transparent – when just the opposite is the case.

No wonder many are calling some, so called, independent commission findings a cover-up. When some scientists found evidence of harmful oil deposits along the Gulf Coast that enter the food chain – they were questioned about “permits” because the findings contradicted a commission’s desired reports. How pitiful.

want Americans, especially Gulf Coast residents, to believe the oil has been eaten by bacteria. Actually, their right to a certain extent. The problem is that scientists have also located gigantic plumes of oil. This video is from May but if you read the scrolling part toward the end – it is very informative.
I like being informed because it serves as a buffer to all the crap that’s being told so responsible parties can minimize their involvement. The source of the info we get is vitally important too. Kind of like global warming. Who or what do you believe? This summer has been very hot but how much, if any, of it is from global warming? Many have short memories. Just a few months ago it was so cold, not just in America but much of Europe and parts of Asia, that people froze to death. Record cold and snow records prevailed just like record hot temperatures do now.

Thank GOD

that the bacteria is eating much of the oil. However, there is absolutely no way to tell how much oil is still causing tremendous damage to ocean life at the bottom of the ocean floor. Alaska is still suffering from the Exxon Valdez disaster more than 20 years later.

Millions of gallons of oil just does not all disappear, bacteria or no bacteria.

Scientists are finding oil plumes. I just hope when we eat fish, whether it’s tuna in a can, from a grocery store or at a restaurant it isn’t tainted with oil from the Gulf Coast – courtesy of BP.

are more believable in general to me. How about you? You see, I’m a very independent thinker and only concerned about the truth. It is amazing how many people go to such extreme measures to defend an agenda that falls under their political lines. And say such goofy things in the process.

I’m an independent conservative but absolutely do not agree with Saun Hannity that BP was there from day one. Also, President George W Bush, waived the Jones Act during Hurricane Katrina to get vital help for victims during a disaster. President Obama refused to suspend the Jones Act and now the American people, wildlife and the environment are paying an awful price. And BP – what a disaster.

Get the facts on the oil spill along with BP’s and President Obama’s reactions and undecisiveness. Look up the Jones Act. Dig, dig, dig until you know what is really happening – or at least to the best of our ability.

Big Oil, Big Money, Big Greed. Pretty soon I’ll get back on the global freezing and global warming speak, as long as there are no more oil spill disasters.

Approximately 39,000 claims are yet to be dealt with. Many of the people who filed these claims can not wait for BP to come through with their promises. said BP wasn’t denying the claims just holding them open forever. BP playing games again with people’s lives. And Dudley, the new BP CEO, is showing little if any improvement over Tony Hayward.

They acted quickly spending millions of dollars on public relations including television commercials to try and get the public back on their side. However, when it comes to acting quickly for the Gulf Coast residents and the environment BP is wanting, badly.

You can fool some of the people some of the time – but not all the people all of the time.

People say we need more regulations and I agree. But this is only part of the solution. If the Federal Government does not enforce those regulations, their not worth the paper their written on. We had regulations but the filthy rich oil companies somehow convince or pay off regulators.

Sure some environmental safeguards are put into place, but they are miniscule when it comes down to the overall picture. How many oi companies are cleaning up old oil wells on their own?

Close to zero. It cost money.

It matters not that BP and other oil companies make billions of dollars, they greedily want more so ignore the regulations. Even if it is taking a huge gamble on destroying the environment, wildlife and people’s livelihoods. To watch President Obama and BP turn away help until the damage was done – well what words are there for that?

And a lot of the turning down was because of money. What is pitiful is that the environmental cleanup cost much more than what it would have if help was accepted initially. So trying to save money backfired. BP – BIG PROFITS. See my oil spill plan.

Unbelievable!

Does BP need another pretender as CEO? I’m sick of it all. Now there’s an oil spill in the Kalamazoo River in Michigan. About 19,500 barrels of oil leaking into a river is a huge amount. Old pipes which broke is apparently the cause. There are old oil and gas pipes all across the United States. America needs a huge facelift of repaired and new infrastructure. And please do not put someone like BP’s Tony Hayward or Bob Dudley in charge of it.

The document was specific for the Gulf of Mexico and riddled with deception. BP claimed it had the capability to handle an oil spill of 20 million gallons per day. For one of BP’s response companies their was a link that went to a Japanese language page. BP listed a professor, who was an expert cleaning wildlife of oil, as a main contact in case of a major oil spill. Well, the professor had been deceased for several years. Accurate information was not important.

No wonder an Associated Press analysis described how BP officials were pretty much making it up as they went along. Also in the 582 page document was BP’s ability to have skimmers in the Gulf of Mexico so oil would not end up on the coastal states. Then when the oil spill actually happened they turned down help and CEO, Tony Hayward, again assured everyone oil would not reach the coastal states.

An accurate reading of how much oil was leaking would have allowed Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida to better prepare for a catastrophe. Again, BP self righteously proclaimed they were trying to stop the oil leakage opposed to trying to measure the amount of oil leaking. Finally, after many wasted days, BP was pressured to give an account of how much oil was spilling into the Gulf of Mexico.

BP’s and President Obama’s Delayed Reaction
The delayed reaction of BP and President Obama made a horribly bad catastrophe, horribly worse. Turning away capable help from other countries and oil companies was unwise and foolish. BP even turned down the purchase of containment boom from a company that had over a mile of boom ready to use. People were warned not to take pictures of the oil spill. What were they hiding?

FACTS
Facts were hidden so BP could tell a different story. Just like safety measures were covered up and ignored as actual Deepwater Horizon rig survivors are testifying now.

Enron Can Be Dissolved But BP PLC Can Not?

Enron committed illegal financial activity which employees were not privy to at all. So innocent people lost their jobs because of Enron’s deceptive practices and most of the public rejoiced at Enron’s demise. Besides their jobs, many Enron employees lost their entire life savings in worthless stock. Yet the same individuals who are critical of those who want BP dissolved were all for Enron’s collapse.

There are hard working innocent employees at BP just like there were at Enron. There is a big difference though. Enron destroyed employees livelihoods as well as the hopes of many investors. BP PLC destroyed employees livelihoods, investors in the Gulf States economy, wildlife, the environment of the Gulf States for years to come and eleven oil rig workers lives were lost because of safety violations.

What The Average Citizen Can Do About Protesting For A Clean Environment

I read an interesting opinion in a local newspaper recently. A woman said she was brought up to express here opinions and was doing so by boycotting BP. She had heard the same accusations as others about how people hurt BP employees by boycotting them. Do not blame the concerned citizen who has no other recourse available to make a difference – except by expressing themselves at the pump. Blame the deceptive oil company like you did when Enron went bust.

Is This Saying You Should Boycott BP?

That is for you to decide. But understand, Enron and Kenneth Lay did less collateral damage than BP and Tony Hayward but didn’t get a break, and rightly so. Many will say but Enron broke the law. Oh, making up a document and submitting it to Federal Regulators so you can drill deep into the Gulf of Mexico, without the safety precautions you claim to have is not breaking the law. Pretending to have a BOP (Blow Out Preventor) properly functioning is ok when a non functional one can cause death and destruction.

Remember, it is the fault of the one who caused the catastrophe – not the people who are trying to prevent another one by boycotting BP. An environmental plan could have prevented a whole lot of misery.

This is a good thing. However, the well head could buckle under the containment caps pressure and cause a oil catastrophe even bigger then the one we have now.

What is troubling is that everyone from President Obama to BP to retired Coast Guard Admiral Thad Allen are all aware of this and sometimes have differing views on how to handle the situation. This does not give confidence to Gulf Coast residents nor the rest of the world. Comments on a second leak close by later. What more?
